In july I spent three weeks at Toodyay West Australia billeted by Peter Phillips and Pam Toster at their Toodyay Tavern. The Avon River, a key focus of the town, was low when I arrived and grew at least two metres when I left. The drawings, some drawn in situ sitting on rocks by the river side and others in a studio space provided, where I responded to the locations colour, light, movement and the continuous perplexity of my own constant movment and never ending search for 'home'. Where is home? What is home made up of and what colour should home be and why does home have to be stationary?
